Steps

Get some Goo-Be-Gone. (It's a cleaner that removes any stain.)

Pour the Goo-Be-Gone on the stain.

Use a rag to scrub the stain.

Repeat steps 2-3 until stain is gone.

Warnings

If you have pets, keep them away from the stained area for about an hour. It is toxic if the pet licks the stained area.

Test the colorfastness of the carpet before applying the goo-be-gone. The color on some carpets may be more sensitive to any given solvent.

Things You'll Need

Goo-Be-Gone

Rag
Blot up as much of the polish as possible with a tissue. Then test the effect of non-oily nail polish remover on an inconspicuous part of the carpet (in the back of closets or under furniture). If there are no ill effects to the carpet pile, apply the nail polish remover with an eye dropper or non-silver spoon, blotting immediately after each application. Always use non-oily polish remover. If regular nail polish remover does not work, buy straight acetone at a beauty supply store, pretest again, and apply as directed above. Once you have removed as much as possible (have patience) follow with Spot Shot Carpet Stain Remover applied according to the directions. If color staining remains, apply hydrogen peroxide to lighten the stain.

Why does finger nails grow faster than toe nail??

Depending on who you listen to, fingernails grow two to three times faster than toenails. A fingernail replaces itself in about six months; a toenail takes a year. Feet are farthest afield in the circulatory scheme of things. A better blood supply to the fingers probably keeps them chugging along at a faster clip. Genetics plays a role too. Nails are basically protective, and since our fingers are busier than our toes, maybe they're more likely to get smashed and need replacing.

There is some speculation that fingernails' constant exposure to sun and air may aid their growth. Feet are locked up in damp, dark shoes most of the time, a more encouraging environment for cultivating fungus and smells instead of nails. Why does finger nails grow faster than toe nail??
blood circulation. your hands, including fingers tips, do alot more than feet. Why does finger nails grow faster than toe nail??
Probably because they get used more so they need to be replaced faster.

How to keep where the nail meets the finger from drying out?

I live in a very dry climate, and in the winter I always get cracked skin right where the nail meets the finger at the top (I think it's called the cuticle... or at least right above it). Does anyone have any tips to prevent this from happening? It's really annoying. ThanksHow to keep where the nail meets the finger from drying out?
seriously as much as a guy probably doesn't want to hear this the best thing you can do is go in a nail place for a simple manicure...they trim the cuticle. also when you get out of the shower push it back on each finger with another nail and rub some baby oil or vitamin e into it.

We are leaving today, and wondered if the TSA would let you carry finger nail polish in your carry-on luggage?

Yes, but only if the bottle is 3.4 oz or less AND placed in a ziploc bag along with your other liquids, in compliance with the TSA 3-1-1 rule:

http://www.tsa.gov/311/We are leaving today, and wondered if the TSA would let you carry finger nail polish in your carry-on luggage?
It really depends. Because of the people who made bombs on the plane, you can't bring anything more than 4 ounces. It really sucks. We are leaving today, and wondered if the TSA would let you carry finger nail polish in your carry-on luggage?
As long as the bottle is 3.4 oz or less.

That is definatley keith. It might be the one right after nurse roberts dies and Elliot's way of couping is to have sex. It also might be the one where they have the discusion about the Iraq War and she gets turned on when Keith insults Hilary Clinton.
It's the episode that Levern (sp?) dies. You know, the nurse that works with Carla.. yeah. That's the episode. Each of them have their way of coping with her dying and her death. that was elliots and kieths.

  • Does finger nail polish wear change your nail structure/?

i have been using polish alot in the past months and now notice ridges in my nails like lines up and down. can it be caused by the polish use?Does finger nail polish wear change your nail structure/?
yeah. my nails are completely ruined because ive been painting them every week. now i decided to stop and let them breathe for a couple of weeks. its good to give your nails a break once in awhile. i am right now, and they are growing back to their regular.Does finger nail polish wear change your nail structure/?
No, regular polish cannot damage your nails. Its the nail polish remover, especially those that contain acetone which will damage your natural nails over time and with frequent use.
YES! I wore nail polish for years and it made my nails all cracked and yellow. I haven't worn it in months now and I have nice long white nails :) give your nails a break and see if it helps.
The chemicals can weaken and dry your nails. Try to first use remover or alcohol on them, then paint them with a clear nail polish, and THEN paint them normally. That should help.

Why do some Asian people have one long finger nail?

Is the reason cultural, religious or status or does it have some other meaning? Why do some Asian people have one long finger nail?
With Long nial you cannot work. Thus only rich and royal famaly are afford to have long finger nail. Status is th emial reason for Asia to have long finger nail. If you watch asia culture dance the famale dances are with long finger nail as the dance are present to royal family. Why do some Asian people have one long finger nail?
That is only common in the Vietnamese and South East Asian cultures. I have wondered the same thing. I am curious.
they perhaps play guitar or a similar instrument.
I have noticed this on quite a few older asians that I've worked with in the past and wondered the samething.
I'm Asian, and I have no clue what the heck you're talking about.
hmm it was a trend and but i am asian and i think its UGLY. lol

++ it has no other meaning...
I think it's if you grow it so that your pinky + fingernail is longer than your ring finger, then it'll be good luck.

those two fumes make me feel sick for at least 2 hours.

what the f*** is the matter with you.. Those two things should only be used in a well ventilated room. You have two lungs and one brain. I think.
If you keep up that behavior, it won't be long because you will be dead. Why do people have to get high all the time and on any thing they can get their hands on no matter how dangerous? Go get help before you end up very sick at the least.
first of all, it is very hard to get high off of sharpie and finger nail polish, and etc., and sexondly if you do get high off of it then it will last for a short time

How can i get rid of yellow discoloration on finger and toe nails from nail polish?

I do manicures every week and im trying to try a natural look, but after removing my nail polish my nails are yellow from the nail polish staining it. I do use a base coat, then color, and then a top clear coat to protect from the dark colors staining but my nails are still kinda yellow.

I tried hydrogen peroxide also but nothing is working.

please help, thank youHow can i get rid of yellow discoloration on finger and toe nails from nail polish?
you may have to go see a podiatrist so they can either give you a prescription or remove the actual nail itself. Till then, dont wear color, especially ones that have a dark base coat since that stains...How can i get rid of yellow discoloration on finger and toe nails from nail polish?
Let the sunshine in....I was told you have to let your nails rest from polish sometimes.
The discoloration is probably not from polish. Most likely you have a fungal infection and you should approach it as if you do.
Try Lemon Juice ! Soak your fingers in them for abit.
It s so easy to get rid of those yellow discoloration. You have to use a very fine emery board on the surface of your nail and buff with it very gently. Then use a buffer to polish and make your nail shine. You ll see all the yellow stains disapear
Stop wearing nail varnish for a month or so, this will go away.

Once it has, invest in a good undercoat and use this every time, before applying nail varnish.
    use nailpolish remover

How do I care for my finger when its nail fell off?

About a month ago, I was playing softball when i ball hit my fingernail. I went to the emergency room and they drilled a hole into it. Now, my finger nail fell off my the root, but a little corner is still hooked on. I trimmed the rest of it off. What should i do? pull the rest off, add medication, or just leave it alone? How do I care for my finger when its nail fell off?
keep it clean and don't let anything in there it will make a infection...and i would put some kind of temporary cast on it to stop all the germs getting in it. and dont try to paint your nails it will sting sooo much. so just let it be and whatever you do DONT PULL IT OFF!!!!! here is a site to help you to keep a healthy finger nail... http://www.spaindex.com/Articles/nailbuf鈥?/a>How do I care for my finger when its nail fell off?
let it be. keep it clean
Well when a nail falls off you should leave it alone. It should grow back naturally. But if it doesn't grow back in about a month you should talk to a Doctor.
My suggestion would be to leave it alone. It will fall off by itself. You could cover the nail to avoid getting the corner caught on something. until it does fall off.

How do you make your finger nails longer really quickly like in 1 or two days with out buying any nail product

the only thing i can think of is this nail polish that does just the trick...:( sorry
I am not positive however, I have heard that if you get clawed by a Grizzly Bear your nails will grow a factor of 3/1. If you lose more than half of your blood volumne reduce that figure to 2/1. Hope this helps.
Cut your fingertips off to about the halfway point of the nail.

Do you always wear finger nail polish?

I've worn it for so long, i feel bare without it, like its part of my attire.Do you always wear finger nail polish?
Hi! And YES, I've worn nail polish for over 20 years. I too seem as if, i've left something behind, if I don't wear it. Nail polish is a part of my whole ';outfit';. If I'm wearing red, pink, orange or peach colored clothing....you can bet, i have that same nail and toenail polish on! And of course....the lipstick to match.

Word of advise....always wear a clear coat under your nail polish, so your nails do not stain.

ENJOY........PRETTY LADY........ : )Do you always wear finger nail polish?
I used to wear them very often because of work but everytime I took it off, my nails will be so dry and yellow and they peel. To salvage the feeling of nakedness of the nails without nail polish, I like to apply a clear protective polish like Sally Hansen Maximum Growth. To make it more funky, try doing a french manicure as it looks classy and the clear polish will not stain your nails.
    Ehh, not always.

But I do love those frenchies.
not always but i do love the french manicure look.
Believe it or not, I do not wear fingernail polish at all. I can't stand the feel of it on my fingernails. Have tried to wear it several times throughout my life but always the same feeling.
very seldom... i'm always taking care of my hair.. and face.. and skin... but not always the nails..lol
    not all the time.
sometimes i'll wear it-but i bite my nails off a lot that i need 2 let them grow 4 sometime so that my nails don't look ridiculous w/ nail polish on
Not all the time but I always have a clear stregthening polish from Sally Hansen. I like french manicures the best.
Not always on my fingers, but always on my toes. I feel very undressed without it!
I haven't worn finger nail polish since I was in high school and that was 10 years ago!! For me, it was just a pain to get off once it was on...

How do I repair a broken finger/thumb nail? Any products on the market for this?

If you have a broken thumb with a broken thumb nail and you are looking for treatment on your own, there are splints available at most retail or drug stores, they are not too expensive. As far as the broken thumb nail, depending on the extent, I would suggest to keep it clean and if it is large enough you may consider an antibiotic cream/ointment with a bandaide. If you are truly concerned have your doctor check it out. It will probably bruise, but the nail will grow back. How do I repair a broken finger/thumb nail? Any products on the market for this?
Broken finger will heal in own time. Thumb nail and all your nails will benefit from Dr Le Winn Revitanail.

I have spent so much money on trying to have the nails my sister just grows and now I have them

Rivitanail for the cuticles is excellent also.

Sounds like an ad, it works but?????How do I repair a broken finger/thumb nail? Any products on the market for this?
If the skin isn't broken, only the nail, use a bit of ';Super Glue';, the cyano-acrylate stuff. Just a tiny drop on the closed break, and a few seconds holding, and you're free.
If theres damage to the cuticle of the nail, then theres nothing you can do - it will just fall off eventually. It may take a while, but it will fall off on its own. Just keep it trimmed to prevent it from catching on something. Also, once the nail falls off, it ideally takes one full yr to grow back.
    no
You can clip it down and wait for it to grow back, or you can go to a nail shop and have them put a light coat of acrylic, or even a layer of silk wrap and nail glue to protect the nail until it grows out. If done properly you shouldn't even notice much of a difference.
If this is your major problem enough to prompt you to ask this trivial question, can I assume you are about 10 years old?

I am havin a problem with my finger nail and i dont kno what to do?

I put on nail polish and not even a hour later i peals off... and they have been breaking really easy.... what can i do and whats wrond with myt nailsI am havin a problem with my finger nail and i dont kno what to do?
Lay off the nail polish for a few weeks and moisturize your cuticles and hands often. If you just leave your fingernails alone, they'll grow stronger and then you'll be able to use polish again.

i own a shop and the best paint i know of is polyurethane, and its tough stuff but pretty expensive also ,and I'm not sure it would even hold up good on a steering wheel,it could be the best solution would be to get a thin cover for it,there's some of the thin leather ones that look and feel really good ,and last a long time, i had one on my dodge for about 5 years, and i finally changed it,but that may be the answer to it if its in a spot that you don't touch very often the paint would work really good, that's the only kind of paint i use any way is ppg polyurethane, and have had real good luck from it good luck hope this helps. Is thier such a paint to paint your steering wheel after it is eat up by a wondering finger nail?

What if a babbys finger nail comes off?

so like last week my sister slamed the door but my babby sister(1 year old) what should i do!!!!!! bandage or what... will it grow back...... will it get infected..... what might happen? What if a babbys finger nail comes off?
The finger nail is probably black and blue and puffed out because what is actually happening is that the new nail is growing from under the damaged one. Don't worry because the new nal will push the damaged one out and off. Do not pull it of for it may get infected. Instead as it grows out trim it slowly keeping the nail from snaging on things and pulling off. To make sure that will not happen you can put a flexible bandaid the help protest it but make sure it is a breathable material not plastic. I'm soory he had to go through that for that really hurts... God bless Good moms everywhere LAWhat if a babbys finger nail comes off?

Heh no just kidding. Yes fingernails grow back but if under the nail is exposed might want to keep a bandaid on it with some kinda antibactreial ointment.

Why do some Chinese have one long finger nail and the rest short???

I asked this question before amongst others.. but wasn't satisfied with the people that were replying so I thought I'd give it another shot.

I have heard different things... some say its a status symbol to show they are not working class, others say its for goodluck.. and I have even heard its for picking their noses!

    Whats the REAL reason?

Are you Chinese? Do you do this? WHY?Why do some Chinese have one long finger nail and the rest short???
When I was in China I met a young man with a long pinky nail and he said he came from a rural farming community (now he works in the city) and having the long nail signifies you have a job where manual labor isn't needed. I believe someone replied with this answer to your previous posting of the question, and I think it is the correct answer. Why do some Chinese have one long finger nail and the rest short???
The only photos that I have seen these long nails are those which portray women from the Qing Dynasty (that is, the last one), and usually only on women from great families or royalty.

My deduction is that it is a status symbol of wealth and position. The rationale being that a long nail on the pinky can easily be broken, so any woman who had to work, either for a living or even house chores, would never have a chance of growing one long enough before it would break.
For multi-purpose usage like for nose ,ears food in between teeth etc etc. Another reason I heard is that the Chinese strongly believe that if the last and the third fingers are in equal length, it will bring them luck. Gamblers, if you care to notice closely practise this.
    this site gives many reasons
Some keep one of there nails long for drug use.

However, this doesn't just apply to Chinese.

It's called a crack nail and it's usually the pinky.
To pick their noses and teeth!!
    Great nose picker.

Put on another coat of nail polish on one finger at a time, let it sit for 2 to 3 seconds, then wipe it off. It should take off the current coat plus the coat beneath it. You may have to do this twice on each nail, depending how long the original polish has been on and how hardened it is.If i need to remove my finger nail polish fast but im out of finger nail polish remover..?

Scraping it off is all I can think of.
Sometimes, when I'm in a pinch, I use my clear nail polish to take off my polish. Just put on a heavy coat, wait a minute, and use an old face cloth or something and rub it off. Ta-da! Otherwise, make a run to the store dude... too much effort.

    sucks for you!
Acetone, Paint thinner, gasoline from your car. All those things work !
if you have nail polish, paint over it, wait a minute (before it dries) and wipe it off with a tissue or something.

the acetone in the nail polish itself is just like the stuff they have in the remover. it should work fine =)
do you have a chain saw?
Rubbing alcohol is practically the same thing...it works just as well...

The skin around my the tip of my finger nail?

So on the tip of my point finger, like RIGHTTTTTT above %26amp; around (like the corners) the nail my skin is like, thick? I don't know, it's not soft and exactly smooth. I have a habit of biting my nails so this may be why but if so, wouldn't this happen to all my fingers? It's not like noticable or anything, it just really bothers me.

Anyone else have this problem? Why?!The skin around my the tip of my finger nail?
I did too when i bit my nail

i dunno y it happens cause i only got it on one finger too n it bothered me too

its i think because u bite this one too much or its a sensitive part or smthn like dat. Dont worry it'll get better when u stop bitting ur nails.

theres a chance it could be poisened or infected. just see your doc and get hold of some antibiotics.

itc ould also be badly bruised. have you closed it in a door or hurt it recently?

if you have you can get a discolouration, your nail may then come loose and fall off. this is natural and within a few weeks the nail will grow back, no problem. just try and keep it clean

    =]
why are you asking on here? just as easy to go to a chemist and get something and you could have got it treated and sorted. good luck!
GO seek medical attention. You may have fungus/an infection. Get it treated before it gets worse or inflammatory.

I droped a Brick on my finger nail and its falling off will it grow back?

I droped a Brick on my finger nail and it is falling off will it grow back if i pull the whole thing off or should I cut the nail down to where the nail meets the skin?I droped a Brick on my finger nail and its falling off will it grow back?
Yes, your nail will grow back. However, you should not pull the whole thing off. I assume it has pulled away from the nail bed so you can cut it back, but don't pull it away or it could get infected. Cut it back and cover it with a bandaid for a few days.

Sorry about your nail!I droped a Brick on my finger nail and its falling off will it grow back?
All of u had great answers if i could choose all of u i would have!

Yes! I due time. In the mean timekeep that area clean from infections as infections interfer with the nail growing it back!
Yes, it will grow back. However, you need to make sure you keep it clean and safe so you don't damage the nail bed further. Ouch!
yes but probably not the same
Do not worry! The nail will grow back again.

Good to know that you help your father :) that means that your a good person

    take care!
If you can pull it off just do it...It will grow back!!
Don't worry your nail will grow back. Nail and hair are made of the same thing, and they both grow back. It will just take time. If you see your nail about to fall off don't pick on it or peel it further even more. And if you notice, the new nail is pushing the old nail out and you will see a little bump of a new nail forming.
Let it fall off, it will grow back in time, but it may never be the same again.

Cut off your finger and try and get a fake of that. Or abandon fake nails for good and be content with what nature has given you. You sound like a bloke with a perfectly serviceble dick who wants penis enlargement.
warm water is all i can think of or ask someone who can help
    hacksaw it
Acetone - it takes patience. You can buy this from a good chemist and Black (Afro) hair shops.!!!

Just put on a good movie and sit back, relax and .......soak!
soak your fingers in water then file ur nail but dont file too mcuh nail polish remover works also
it will come off eventually over a couple of days without you realising it by using your hands in water.
    soap and water
Pick it off.. go on you know you want to......Pick it!!
soak your hands in very warm soapy water prefebly bubble bath and it will start to ease them of or get a bowl full of nailvarnish remover and soak your fingers and they will slowly come off me personaly find warm soapy water best
Don't bother, just wear nice gloves.
    hot soapy water
acetone. can get it from boots or chemists
soak you nails in acetone, if you don't have any then some nail varnish removers contain it so you could try that.

Alternatively you could go back to the place you had them put on and they could sort it out for you.

    hope you get it off.
Next time, put the glue on your useless, stupid gob.
Hi, ive learnt my lesson with fake nails, they always break off and ruin your nails. Really your suppose to soak your nails in nail varnish remover, or washing up liquid. But it still doesnt get the glue off and your left with dry nails. I recommend resoaking them in nail varnish remover and rubbing most of the glue off or try soaking in warm water, Just afterwards please apply a good hand and nail moisuriser, to get them back in condition. But i wouldnt recommend using them again. every time ive had fake nails on iam left with brittle glue nails,Yuk. Just do it your self its really easy, i practiced doing my own nails and people have commented on them thinking i have been to a salon.
ACETONE...nail polish remover. Try soaking your nails in nail polish remover. If it's that bad then go back to the nail bar ;-)
If you have some finger nail polish remover with aceton you can use that. If not you can go by some pure aceton nail remover put this in a bowl that you want eat out of again and soak your nails for about 10 minutes and the glue and nails and gel will start to disolve and you can just srcape it off your nails. Scarpe all you can then file your nails if you still have more on your nails just repeat the whole process. Now if this is too much for you just go back to the shop and ask them to remove your nails.
    nail polish remover
    chain saw
soak in warm, soapy water. Then it it still doesn't pick off, get nail polish remover and a nail file. Works every time.
    nail varnish remover
go buy some acetone from a model shop, it worked for me when i glued a 1/35th scale type 72 main battle tank to my leg. first i tried soapy water but the transfers came off. does that help?
u dont get fake nails...wow i just fixed ur problem.
.Ah no, broken nails! I'm an expert!

The best way to remove the glue is to soak your nails in acetone, lots of nail varnish removers have this as an ingredient. Takes a while but works really well, and is pain free!

Does anyone have suggestions for finger nail, skin, & hair care?

I have short brittle nails, dry hair, %26amp; dry skin. I've tried all sorts of lotions, etc. but nothing really works. Where we live the weather is dry so that is why I am having these problems. I'm 29 and want to have pretty nails, not fake ones, soft healthy looking skin and hair - what can I do? Also, how do you file your nails properly? I always seem to file them till there is hardly anything left. Thanks in advance!Does anyone have suggestions for finger nail, skin, %26amp; hair care?
I use (and sell because I love them) all Beauticontrol products. The skin care is phenomenal--it goes by the age your skin is acting.

As for the hands and nails, we have a product called Instant Manicure that is great! Your hands are soft and smooth after, it's unbelievable. I usually follow that with the extreme hand repair creme and my hands have really improved from what they used to be-nails too. Check out www.beautipage.com/judydangelo if you're interested in the products, they really are great!

Filing should be done in one direction and if your nails are already short, just file the rough edges and stop. If you keep a coat of clear nail polish on that will help your nails too.Does anyone have suggestions for finger nail, skin, %26amp; hair care?
Something that has helped me tremendously is taking a supplement from Nutrilite called Complex for hair, skin and nails. My skin has cleared up and is much more healthy looking and it does make your nails much stronger as well as your hair looking a ton better. If you want to add a little bit of help fo your skin I strongly reccomend Artistry's Hydrating System. Even though Nutrilite is the number one vitamin and supplement company in the world and Aritistry is in the top 5 selling prestige brands of skin care and cosmetics in the world you won't find either in stores but I can give you the direct link so you can read about each and decide if they sound like what you are looking for http://adrennan.qhealthbeauty.com/products/product.aspx?itemno=A7553 Just to let you know both Nutrilite and Artistry products have a one hundred percent money back guarentee so if you don't like them for any reason or they wouldn't workk for you, you can get every penny back. Even if you don't go for the skin care system you should definately try the supplement. Hope this was helpful :)
wow i cant wait till some one answers this question, im giving you a star, very good question
yes. Im a male, and i get compliments from girls all the time about my nails. Its pretty weird actually. I used to take vitamin c and niacin which boosts the immunity and circulation and my nails always grow back super strong and super long. one reason is that i dont bite them anymore and they just grow on forever. with skin, zinc tablets help alot, and when i was taking vitamin c and niacin, i rarely broke out, this is of course with a nice facial regimend. I can recommend one if you tell me your skin type. with hair, only wash maybe once or twice a week, sometimes when you wash more you get little white flakes that look worst than dandruff. purchase some jojoba oil from walmart, or any lotion with vitamin e in it and moisturize your hair immediately after a shower.

a female friend of mine bought the little nail buffer thing, that had all the little contraptions on them from like the dollar store or wal-mart. first you scrub them down, polish them, then buff. altogether it'll probably take 20-30 minutes if you include your feet, but theyll look really good. I had girls do it for me and you could swear i got them done professionally.

    hope this helped!

That happened to me once...a few days later it just came out...just keep your eyes VERY wet.Should I worry about finger nail stuck in my eye lids?
I have had that happen a couple times. I usually try to find it, and if I can I get it out, for one, it can get infected and for two its very uncomfortable. If you cant get it out yourself or dont want to attempt it, I would go see my doc. (reg. doc). He/She WILL be able to get it out. Probably even a nurse if they can find it.

    Good luck
To be safe you better go see an Ophthalmologist they are the experts on this. Don`t play doctor if you do not know how to handle a situation like this.Just remember the EYES are the windows of your SOUL.
Yes, I think you should wash it out immediately.

Use some water (sterilised preferably), tip your head so that the finger nail will wash away from your face (you don't want to wash it in to the other eye). It's easier if you get someone else to pour the liquid.

If you can't wash it out, go and get medical assistance.

I got a pedicure and discovered a fungus. I lost th big toenail..Trying to treat it with over the couner aids..Has anyone ever had a fungal infection in the toe/finger nail? If so, what did you use to treat it?
A good treatment is undiluted hydrogen peroxide. Yep it will burn as hell but it works really well. Just get a orange stick ( you know the instrument used in manicures and pedicures) wrap the tip with a bit of cotton and dip into the hydrogen peroxide then gently clean out the nail area. Repeat at least twice a day or after each shower. It should bring your nail back to normal.Has anyone ever had a fungal infection in the toe/finger nail? If so, what did you use to treat it?
Fungal infection is very common disease seen, %26amp; is cure is easy, some oral antifungal tablets along with local antifungal ointment applied in the night %26amp; cover with some bandage so that the ointment is not wiped away.Only difficulty is the long duration of treatment, for a minimum period of six months or so.
Try soaking it in hydrogen peroxide sveral times.
As most fungal infections are under the nail, theres really nothing short of drilling a hole in it and digging it out you can do yourself. Go to the DR. and get an RX. for Lamisil.

My sons nail came off completly 100% clean. It looks kinda nasty and juicy under there and I was wondering is there anything else besides peroxide and a band aid I should be doing? How do I take care of finger with no nail?
Wash with warm water and a disinfectant soap such as Betadine; disinfect with alcohol; then apply Neosporin ointment and bandage. After a few days the nail bed will dry up to a smooth reddish surface, and you can discontinue the disinfectant and ointment. Your son will probably want to keep a bandage on it for a while though, just to protect it, because the exposed nail bed is very sensitive. How do I take care of finger with no nail?
The same thing happened with me, when i was younger. My sister jammed my finger in the door and it went purple and fell off , not suddenly but after a day or so it fell off completely. I did nothing i just was careful with it and it grew back in fine.

All you need to do is dab a bit of TCP on the side of your finger and it should start clearing up in a couple of days.

    Sorted :)
    Don't mess around with your cuticles - don't cut them, bite them or be too agressive with your manicures. Bacteria, fungus, viruses are opportunistic and love the nail bed - don't let it happen, its yuck if it gets bad. ';Paronychia';, ';Whitlow';
It's called a hangnail and it hurts like hell to be so small
A Hang nail... very similar to an ingrown toe nail. They hurt. It's really a sharp part of your nail growing into your skin where it does not belong. Cutting your nail too short can be a major cause of this.
in french '; ongle incarner'; lol
    maybe you have a hangnail
could be a torn cuticle, even a paper cut, Watch it. If peroxide and neosporin don't clear it up fast, it could be a bad staph infection. It's most likely staph anyway, but not a dangerous one.
when its on your toe they call it an ingrown nail.. I would think it would be the same for fingernails.

I use Sally Hansen nail polish that has nail hardener in it. It comes in a variety of nice colors. Works for me! I get a good price on the polish at Wal*Mart.
If you just removed the acrylics you may have to wait til that whole nail grows out then put a hardener on it. Personally I have found that hardeners make my nails more prone to breakage. So I use a clear coat. And polish. And top coat. Get online and see what kind of foods to eat to improve nail growth.

I think i have fungus under my finger nail?

I'm not sure if i have a nail fungus or i bruised my finger? i don't remember hurting my finger nail so i'm guess it maybe fungus. there is a dark spot on the side of my finger nail and on that side of the finger its being to swell up. on the other side its not as bad and is not swelling up. if i touch the swell up side of the finger it hurts. and i can feel my finger expanding.

Can someone tell me if i have some form of nail fungus or should i believe that i just brusied my finger?I think i have fungus under my finger nail?
If it is dark, it most likely is not a fungus. That usually shows up as white and makes your nails soft and yellow.

Sounds like a bruise or a blood blister.I think i have fungus under my finger nail?
i would think its more likely a bruise but its very rare to get a bruise there, but i think you should ask your doctor because your doctor would know alot of stuff to tell whether it is fungus or bruised

but in the mean time i think you should make sure you know exactly what it is if you try and solve it on your own

and my only other avdvice to you is that bruises usually heal in days so im guessing if it doesn't heal in a couple of days you should consider it fungus

    best of luck!

this sounds like a fungal infection remember some infections appear to have gone away but in fact are still there. being as though the green comes and goes every so often is proof enough that this condition needs to be treated professionally.

Can I use finger nail polish remover to bleach my hair?

okay I'm having a major dellima and I want to bleach my hair by tomorrow morning, I'm NOT going to the salon, I've already bought an expensive bleach kit that did not work(due to black hair) we have no bleach in our house and its night time so I can't use lemons will the finger nail polish eat my hair or will it bleach it?Can I use finger nail polish remover to bleach my hair?
No it won't do anything except for dry it out. Nail polish remover is used to dissolve the glue in some hair extensions... defenitely won't bleach your hair... sorry.

Black is a tough colour to work with when you want to dye your hair because it's difficul tto get out. Bleaching kits are normally not too good for this... my suggestion (without having to go to a salon) is to buy a bottle of 30 or 40 Vol and some bleach powder (Hi-Lift blue based is pretty good, don't know if you can get it in the US, but I use it here in Australia and it's fantastic).

Mix these at approx 50% each (you should get a nice paste... don't be stingy with your bleaching powder because a no name brand one with definitely NOT do the job) and apply to your hair for no more than 20 mins.

Your hair may only go caramel though, so you will probably need to bleach it twice, depending on what colour you want. It's better to bleach twice than leave the first lot in for too long... your hair might break off if you do that!

Good luck, dear! Can I use finger nail polish remover to bleach my hair?
Why would you even come up with this idea??? Buy another HAIR bleaching kit. Nail polish remover is called 'nail polish remover' for a reason!
Peroxide is basically bleach. Do you have any of that?
It wont bleach it trhere is no peoxide in nail polish remover.I dont recomend it.not a smart plan
Unfortunately it only works on fingernail polish, it is acetone, and only used for nail polish or paint. Bleach for clothes is another issue as it only works on clothes NOT HAIR! HAIR BLEACH IS THE ONLY THING THAT WILL WORK ON HAIR. Peroxide (called developer for hair) comes in different percentages....0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 60, using home, for cuts, peroxide will do nothing for black hair. Lemon juice does eat the hair as it is a very high acid.
no but you can make it dry and tangled
no cuz nail polish remover removes non-natral colors like for nail polish i would use lemon juice and put in on your hair and stay in the sun for 2 hours or just get in done
Please be careful buying the developer and bleach yourself, as some people have suggested here. When you don't really know how it all works, you can destroy your hair very easily. At best, you will probably get it brassy blonde. At worst, you will end up with gummy hair that is breaking off.

Basically, if you need them by tomorrow morning...you are out of luck. Nothing you have at home will lighten your hair that much.
You can use lemons by themselves but don't use acetone, it is not going to bleach your hair if you insist on doing it tonight try either lemons or peroxide. Hope it works out for you.
dont do it i ended up doing that once to have some low lights [tips]for school pictures and it runied my hair i had ended up having to cut off my hair where i put it on.the smell doesnt go away eighter and it make your hair dry and your scalp itchy.and if you have it in to long it gives u a scalp infection

  • What will take finger nail polish out of towels?

Nail polish remover but it would be more of a headache then it's worth and probably strip some of the color from the towels. Betetr off buying new towels.

This is probably going to be the WEIRDEST question but i have a finger nail lodged in my tonsil..what do i do?

I bite my nails, and one got stuck on my tonsil. im not kidding, my mom looked with a flashlight and its on there. she tried to get it off with tweezers but she couldnt get it. ive tried gargling and other stuff but it wont come out :( what should i do?This is probably going to be the WEIRDEST question but i have a finger nail lodged in my tonsil..what do i do?
Make an appointment with your dentist... or doctor... or go to the emergency room or something. The tonsil is very sensitive and if one of the body's first line of defense against bacteria. Your fingernail is full of bacteria and dead cells, so I bet it'd be inflamed and hurting alot.

Go get some professional help before you do any more damage. This is probably going to be the WEIRDEST question but i have a finger nail lodged in my tonsil..what do i do?
You'll probably need to go to the doctor, but here are a few things that might work. First, use an anesthetic spray like Chloraseptic or an anesthetic lozenge like Cepacol to treat the pain. Second, try gargling (with warm tea or salt water or just about anything). Third, try eating sticky stuff like cornbread with honey or peanut butter toast. But don't go digging back there anymore; you could only make things worse. If it's still there tomorrow, see your doctor (and stop biting your nails).
Wow, that IS the weirdest question.... Call your dentist or an ear/nose/throat doctor (hopefully you have someone available) and explain the situation. They may be able to get you in quick - because it seems like it would be a quick in-and-out fix.
    holy crap wouldn't that hurt?!?!

if you're like me, i would get in front of a well-lit mirror and try to pull it out myself.

or go to a dentist. they know everything.
gargle with water and uncooked rice. The rice act as an abrasor so might help to dislodge the nail
    Go to the doctor...
    pull it out.

Has anyone got a good cure for split finger nails, i have tried nail rescue from Rimmel which was useless?

GNC has ';Hair and Nail Vitamins';. I have used them and they really work well. Barring that, you can take Vitamin B7 (aka Vitamin H, aka Biotin). This is the primary ingredient in their pills.Has anyone got a good cure for split finger nails, i have tried nail rescue from Rimmel which was useless?
The Sally Hansen range is very good - not had your problem myself, but find her stuff is great for most things.Has anyone got a good cure for split finger nails, i have tried nail rescue from Rimmel which was useless?
    Drink plenty of milk.

In my finger nail there is a white spot, what could it be and why is it there and how can I prevent it?

The spots you notice are not caused by a calcium deficiency. They're called ';leukonychia'; and are very common. Most of the time the white spots simply are a sign of some past injury to the matrix (base) of your nails. By the time the white spot shows up (about six weeks after the injury) you've probably forgotten all about banging or knocking your fingers. Sometimes, the injury can stem from a manicure that put excessive pressure on the base of the nails. The spots also can be a sign of an allergic reaction to nail polish or nail hardeners and, sometimes, are a symptom of a mild infection.

Is painting your phone with finger nail polish a good idea?

    No

It will look bad and it's stupid get a phone caseIs painting your phone with finger nail polish a good idea?
    LOL

I actually did this to one of my previous phones, because I hated the fact that it was a dark color and not easily visible. I left it on for a few days, and then took it off for several reasons.

    1. The smell never went away, and it gave me a headache.

    2. The polish did not go on smoothly, so it did not look nice.

    3. I justrealized how silly it was, and that you can get a cover for it for less than $10.

I just painted the battery cover on mine, but I do not think it can do your phone any harm so long as you do not get polish inside. Is painting your phone with finger nail polish a good idea?
I don't think that's the best idea. I'm not sure if it will damage the cellphone or not, but I don't think it's that bright.

If you don't like the colour of the cellphone, though, I'm pretty sure you can get things like the ones you cover you iPod with that fabric there.

    Sorry, can't remember what it's called :/

If there isn't those things available, GL with it!
no just get a cheap cover and then paint it or just get a cover that is the color you want to paint it;]
LOL i tried that!!!! and its not good!!! it comes out weird like not solid.... i was just having fun with it...maybe you just like put your initials on it or something but not paint a lot....
    No, you might ruin it.
    I don't think so
    lmaoooo i dont think so

    go to manicurist.
book an appointment for a manicurist.
    practice, practice, practice.

train your hand to be VERY steady, or get someone else to put it on for you :)
Very carefully and very slowly - do NOT rush it.

  • My daughter has a green infection under her finger nail?

My daughter is 3 years old. In june said she slammed her finger in a door, though she never complained of it. Ine day we noticed her finger nail swollen, green and black with puss oozing out of it. It only got worse. We went to the doctor and he burned a hole in it and the nail fell off. Well, now shes getting the same thing again! Its covered 1/3 of her nail on one finger and on another hand she has it starting and its the size of the tip of a pen. Her doctor insists she has had trauma or a splinter and to let it work its way out. But, if it just spreads how will it work its way out? I am scared that my daughters finger nails will fall off one by one. Any advice would be great. I also have picutes I can e-mail.My daughter has a green infection under her finger nail?
go back to the doctor. thats not something you should be asking people online. My daughter has a green infection under her finger nail?
Get a second opinion. A different doctor may see something this first doctor is missing.
    no idea! sry.
get a second opinion! it needs to be checked and she probably needs antibiotics.
take her to another doctor. i think infections that do not clear up can become gangreen? my 9 year old just did this a week ago, and her fingernail and finger are purple, but no green. green usually means an infection, and that has to be taken care of.
That sounds really serious, like a fungus. I think that you should go back to the doctor %26amp; if he says the same thing then you should get a second opinion. Good luck %26amp; I hope that your daughter gets better.
Seek as many medical opinions as possible. Find better Doctors.
I wouldn't trust that doctor, it sounds pretty bad to me. At the very least you should be treating it with antibiotics to try to kill the bacteria. You might want to get a few more professional medical opinions as well.
send me the pics to missladyaybike@yahoo.com

ill see if i can tell you anything about it
Why don't you go to the ER? What state do you live in?
My daughter had the same thing but not quite so extreme. I was just told to lance it to relieve pressure and then but neosporin or something like that on it and watch it for a few days. I also loaded her up on all of your amune system building herbs like echinecha, and stuff like that. I did that and it worked.
Forget the Doctor he seems like a Quack! Take her to the Hospital emergency room immediately! Your little girl could Die!!

    Go Now!
greenish, can result from different infections and conditions of the skin. In about 50% of cases, discolored nails are a result of infections with common fungi that can be found in the air, dust, and soil. There are many species of fungi that can affect nails. By far the most common, however, is called Trichophyton rubrum. This type of fungus has a tendency to infect the skin and is therefore known as a dermatophyte. Pseudomonas is a type of bacteria that infects the nail bed and result in a greenish color to the nails. Red or black nails may result from a hematoma (a collection of blood) under the nail as a result of trauma (including ingrown toenails).

Chronic medical conditions also can affect the appearance of the nails. Specific color changes in the nails can be suggestive of diabetes or of liver, kidney, heart, or lung conditions. This is why doctors pay specific attention to nails during a routine physical examination.
Take her to another doctor. Nail infections have to be treated and it takes a long time to get rid of them She may have to take antibiotics for several months.
Go see a different doctor and get a second opinion!
well my best advice would be to find another doctor, but for a home cure i would suggest getting aloe from a real aloe vera plant and keeping that on the infected area as much as possible. i had a bad infection from a burn and it was really gross, a friend broke some leaves off his aloe plant and squeezed it on my wounds. theres alot of pure aloe that comes from even one leaf. it took a week or so but it cured all infection. i used it everyday. i have never used aloe from a jar but i will say that in my case pure aloe right from the plant really did a great job. i had alot of really gross looking stuff happening around the infection. but i still have to say a very qualified medical professional would be youre best choice.and being such a young child she wont be able to stand infection the way an adult can. just please go get another doctor that is more qualified, maybe a skin specialist would be of more help to you.
Did your doctor take a culture of the puss? If not either demand he do so or find a new one asap. If the one hand had a splinter the other would not have a problem. Keep going until you get answers.
i think i have a similar experience with one of my cousins i want to see pics vanhelad566@sbcglobal.net

What is causing my finger nail to split and peel and how do I stop it?

You may need more calcium. Increase the amount of calcium in your diet and it should help your nails to be stronger. What is causing my finger nail to split and peel and how do I stop it?
Ive herd that soaking your nails in apple cider vinegar will help toughen them up

How do you care for a nail bed that the whole finger nail has been ripped ot of?

Have you seen the doctor about the fact your finger nail has ripped off? Soak it in warm salty water and keep it covered with a bandage. If there is any sign of infection (red, swollen, warm to touch, pus) see your doctor asap for antibiotics.

Edit: The nail might not grow back, it depends what caused the nail to be ripped off in the first place. You may have damaged the nail bed and matrix, in this case it will probably not grow back. How do you care for a nail bed that the whole finger nail has been ripped ot of?
JUST KEEP CLEAN IT WILL GROW BACK ON OWNHow do you care for a nail bed that the whole finger nail has been ripped ot of?

wear some of those Crocs as they are comfortable, and semi protective, and easy to slip on and off

cover the toe in gauze until healed,

Every evening at home allow air to get at it,

eventually the nail will grow back

    call the company
You should call the company right away and they will tell you what to do. They might even start an investigation.
Did you clip your fingernails while heating? If so, pitch it.

If not, and you think it was in the can, call Campbell's. Their # is on the label. Don't throw it out as they will do tests to make sure the DNA of it is not at all related to you.
I'll bet that wasn't ';mmm mmm good!';, huh?
At least it wasn't the finger!

(they will want to know the run numbers on the can so save it if you are going to contact them)
Call the company, and report it, or u can mabe just clip a piece of ur nail swallow it, then sue the company lol!

    please don't do that

take a picture of it and keep the can because it has all the info on it. Call the 1-800 # on the back of the can during business hours and tell them about it. Tell them you have a picture and the can and you can email it to them...save everything. They should take care of it right away. Dont forget to get the name of the person you talk to. Make them reimburse you for the can of soup and offer you other stuff too.
    Gross!!!
maybe that will teach ya not to buy canned soup, that is unless you must ...
Ugh... I would contact the manufacturer, they might give you another can or something (although if I were you, I would probably be done with soup for a while).
    Call, write, complain...scream.

Is it cute to wear black finger nail polish?

YES!!! but only if its neat and clean, make sure your cuticles are pushed back and healthy and your nail is shaped properlyIs it cute to wear black finger nail polish?
Uh, no...unless Marilyn Manson is cute. Dark burgundy is nice though..and sophisticated. Is it cute to wear black finger nail polish?
if your an emo or goth
it depends what type of person you are... emo yeah prep no... but black is my fav. color... my friends say im emo so like its ight for me to wear a lot of black and i do wear a lot of black!

    hope this helps
    ya, it is...

    I do sometimes...

    I'm not goth, and I think it's cool. =]
    yes
as a guy..i think it looks good on a very select few percentage of girls. i dunno about older women wearing it though
    cute if you are goth
Not if your trying to make good impressions...it's sorta tacky depending on what age you are at. I personally think if you are over 15 its fine to where it...but being a kid...naa...go all natrual...clear as in the color of spit (Junie B. Jones would say)
it depends on what your wearing it with

    but yea

    careful.

u could come off gothic, if your trying to then thats a good start

but i think its totally cute
    everybodys doing it

    even preppy people

    soo whatever.
If you're a teen, OK, then it's pretty cool. If you're an adult, no, grow up.
yes ....if you are a rooster.......
it can be quirky... and a lot of guys thank thats cute
Actually it's the other way around. It's not supposed to be cute. If you think a little bit, all the preppy girls turned their ';new pink'; into black, just to copy what's in, and that doesn't make it cute. It makes it stupid if you're only wearing black nail polish to seem ';cute.'; After all black is the total opposite to cute. You wanna look cute? Don't wear any nail polish at all.
If you wear it the right way. I'd suggest staying away from it.
am wearing black and brown.....cuz wanna appearin in a dark gothic way

    LOL

really gimme da feeling dat am harsh

Of course it is just feeling but dat plus my character...

    hehehehe

    hallucinations
I personally don't like to see women wearing that color and no, it's not cute. It's dark Gothic looking when the woman is also wearing clothing and everything is black. It's just personal taste and I think it takes away from a woman's natural beauty.
not black, but VERY dark purple/ blue.

    OPI nailcolor in ';Linkin Park Aftter Dark';
I prefer French-tipped fingernails, myself. But I know 2 or 3 guys who like the black fingernails.
yea it is.. its also cute to have a manicure with black tips, instead of the white ones..
yahh i did it i looked prity good and dated with many on same day
only if your goth or it halloween .
Yeah I always wear it or I wear bright red.
    No

    Ew

why would you want to...it symbolizes death, and besides that why do you want a color thats so downright depressing?
    Yes hell yeah !

    it looks tres chic !!

    soo cute =D

    im wearing it now lols
Why does my opinion matter to you? Would you still wear it if i said no?
    yes.
    yeah
    yea
    No.

The trend for the past 2 fall/winter seasons has been DARK nails NOT black. You wanted a color that was really dark but had depth. I loved my dark purple. But my fav was my dark red. It looked black from far away but the light would catch it and you could see it was a deep red.

This is not a something you wear for spring/summer.

LAMISIL庐, one 250 mg tablet, should be taken once daily for 12 weeks by patients with toenail onychomycosis. My physician only allowed me to take it for 3 months and required me to have a liver panel done twice during that time.Below is a site with all the side effects and other info.My sister has finger nail ring warm infection .She is taking terbinafine tablets 250 mg once a day .?
It is extremely important to take antibiotics for the full term. Here is why. She has an infection, which is being caused by an organism that the antibiotics must fight off. Even though she will start to feel better and look better after a few days, this doesn't mean that it is safe to stop the antibiotics. Why? Because they have only started to kill the new microorganisms that are being reproduced, but not the older ones at the root of the issue. If she were to stop them now, the microorganisms that are left behind would mutate and generate resistance to the antibiotic, so that next time she uses it it won't even work, thus making it more difficult to treat her condition. So yes, take them exactly as the doctor says.

You could also think of it this way. You are going to go swiming to a river, and you have been told that you MUST at ALL TIMES wear your life saving jacket. You then arrive at the river and notice how calm and smooth it looks. Would it be wise to jump in with no life jacket? After all, it looks very safe and tranquil. Well the truth is no, you shouldn't, becuase underneath, there are currents which could cost you your life if you aren't wearing your floaties. So yeah, I sure do hope you take them as instructed.

So only way is keeps long nail .as long as there can,and there believe it will bring better luck.( normal our last finger will not reach till third line of next ,only very few can ) This is one of the OLD Chinese people thinking, you don't see any of Muslim people do so. How do you remove finger nail polish from carpet?

    Steps:

    1. Pour dry cleaning fluid over the stain.

    2. Blot with a dry, white cloth.

    3. Apply a small amount of mild liquid detergent to the stain.

    4. Blot again with the cloth.

    5. Flood the stain with water.

    6. Blot again with the cloth.

    7. Pour a small amount of ammonia on the stain.

    8. Blot again.

    9. Apply a little more liquid detergent to the stain.

    10. Blot again.

    11. Flood the area with water.

    12. Blot one last time.

    Tips:

Dry cleaning fluid can be purchased at a home supply store or a dry cleaners.

Always test the cleaning solutions on an inconspicuous area of the carpet before applying them to a large area.

Use a white cloth rather than a colored one to prevent any dyes from coming off on the carpet.

As you blot, keep turning the cloth so that you are using a clean, dry section to pick up the stain and the cleaning fluids from the carpet. Don't rub.

If using a brush to help clean the stain, always brush from the outer edges of the spill inward to prevent the stain from spreading.

    Warnings:

Do not use nail-polish remover as it may bleach the carpet. How do you remove finger nail polish from carpet?
try acetone in a small area before applying all over. It is stronger than finger nail polish remover. How do you remove finger nail polish from carpet?
Don't use nail polish remover! I did that once and it ate a hole in the carpet.
    rubbing alchol
There is some stuff called ';goof off'; that you can buy at any hardware store. It will take it off. Nail polish remover will also work but it will fade the carpet.
try naptha if you can't find in hardware buy a can of zippo lighter fluid same chemical
it depends entirely on what kind of carpet it is. Try a little nail polish at an edge where it won't be noticed, if it doesn't melt the carpet, use it with a q-tip or cotton ball only on the polish, If not, I'm afraid you will have to find a new table to put over the spot. because its there to stay.
    Goof off

if you just stopped give it a couple weeks then use sally hansen or whatever its called and its in a pink tube and it has some clear liquid stuff its not finger polish it just stays on there then put it on your nails twice everyday and dont let them wipe against anything then let it absorb into your nails and it really works youll probably notice the first week and its like 5 dollars for 2 tubes of it . they come in a pack! good luck
i used to bite my nails and i finally stopped and they started to grow long again in about 5 days or so.
If they are VERY short, 2 months, sort of short=1month
    eat jello!

What is the BEST way to get finger nail polish out of carpet?

I have a 2 year old and he got ahold of my RED finger nail polish. I have been trying everything to get this stuff up and have found nothing! Been trying since December and it still isnt up yet! Any suggestions? its a military house so if i cant get it up i have to replace the carpet, expensive!! Its too short and the stain goes too deep to cut it out as well...Thanks for the help! What is the BEST way to get finger nail polish out of carpet?
First off - the longer it stays on the carpet the tougher it will be to get out. Also you may be damaging the carpet fibers or making the stain tougher to remove with all the products you are trying.

It is pretty difficult to remove - even for professionals with products made to remove nail polish.

I'd be willing to bet you will not be able to remove it safely and successfully without the assistance of a professional.

I'd find someone who uses Pros Choice cleaning products. Their pro-solve gel and power gel usually will get the job done

Carpet is sensitive and can be damaged easily by many consumer products including oxiclean and resolve. What is the BEST way to get finger nail polish out of carpet?
Depending on the color of carpet, I would try the nail polish remover on a q-tip applying in very small areas to blot out the polish. You may have some luck in redying the spot to match the rest of the carpet well enough to satisfy your landlord. Or perhaps the Army would consider allowing you to dye the carpet in that room red! :)
You could try a product called ';Folex'; - white bottle with green printing. It takes a lot of different stains out of carpets, and is easy to use. I use it for everything in my house, and hasn't failed me yet.
    this is the best::::

What is the best way to get off red finger nail polish?

Use Nail Polish Remover and a cotton ball, then around the cuticles I would recommend using a Q-tip to work it around the edges. What is the best way to get off red finger nail polish?
sounds like maybe you have stain fingernails....use nail polish remover to get what you can. use a file.. flat side( not the hard ridges to brush it off.. then a buffer.... u can get these for about a buck... its the one that looks like a rectagular block... never use filers or it will give you ridges... next time.. use a clear coat/top coat to protect the nails before putting nail color on your nails. What is the best way to get off red finger nail polish?
take a cotton ball dipped in remover, set it on top of your nail and after a few seconds, wipe the nail from the cuticle to the tip. repeat with clean cotton, until it is all gone.
    nail polish remover of coz
    nail polish remover
You need to use alot of nail polish remover. Take a tissue and wipe each nail repeatedly with nail polish remover. Depending on how many layers of polish you put that will determine how much polish remover you'll need to use

Whats the point of wearing CLEAR nail polish on your finger nails ?

are you that dumb to not even answer ur own question? come on..Whats the point of wearing CLEAR nail polish on your finger nails ?
It makes them shiny and makes them look more healthy than they actually areWhats the point of wearing CLEAR nail polish on your finger nails ?
I have really weak nails and if I don't have some sort of polish on them they will break off even more, so I usually will wear clear if I don't have time to put something better on or if I want it to match anything.
To make then stronger so they won't break
They look shiny and neat while still being natural. Besides, if you're doing them on your own, it's less messy and quicker than color polish.
it makes then look more shiny
They look well kept and clean while being very casual about it, it's like having naturally good nails.
its usually used as a base or top coat, for nicer, long lasting results

some people wear it alone for strength
usually, its used as a base coat, to make nail polish on top of it stick better and not peel off. also used as a top coat, some nail polishes are dull, and it makes them glisten more.

or just to make the nail look shiny.
whats the point in waxing a car or waxing a floor same idea they said it shiney....it also makes nails tougher..

  • My 2 yr old son broke his pinkie finger nail and complaining that it hurts. any suggestions?

Home remedies for pain?? I know t won't hurt once it grows out but mean while any helpMy 2 yr old son broke his pinkie finger nail and complaining that it hurts. any suggestions?
My Mom used to take turpentine (as I remember it doesn't burn or sting) and put a gauze pad on the boo-boo and soak it in turpentine and then wrap it with dry gauze or a bandaid. Somehow, it takes the soreness out. Good luck.My 2 yr old son broke his pinkie finger nail and complaining that it hurts. any suggestions?
what do you mean by broke? like it broke and now a new one will need to grow in? if there is a blood blister under it (blood pooling) you need to poke a hole is it and let the blood drain and he will feel a million times better if the nail was just cut too short, there is nothing... a bandiad might mentally make him feel better.
My mum used to hold the place that was hurting and look me in the eyes, then she would pretend she was concentrating and then she would gasp and smile and cup the pain in her hands and let it out the window. I would always feel better, lol. I suggested that cuz I didnt want to say tylenol or something.
It sounds like he may have broken the 'tuft' of his finger-which is the very tip of the bone.(of the distal phalanx). Either that, or he was lucky enough to miss the tuft completely and just smashed the skin surrounding the tip. (The nail may all off if it was bruised at the cuticle) Either way, I'm sure he hurts. (I'm an x-ray techn. and I see that fairly often in young children). Just wrap it-but not so tight so it's not cutting off the circulation. Or use your judgement-if you feel better getting a Dr.'s appt. I suggest you do so. Let me know, K?!
if he will let you,put some table salt in little warm water and soak his finger for a few minutes a day for a couple of days, and then put some toa on it with a small bandaid until he doesnt complain of pain
um break his other pinkie and ask him which one hurts more?! haha no i am jk..but give him some tylenol or something ot ease the pain!
They have neosporin with pain reliever that might help...and it will help the healing and keep out the infection
your not a doctor it could be infected go back to the dr
