What does the White dots on a finger nail mean?

I think its a calcium deficiency or somethingWhat does the White dots on a finger nail mean?
Silly...it's a nail bruise. What does the White dots on a finger nail mean?
I thought it was too much calcium
The white dots come about as a result of damage to the fingernail as it grows. Basically, if you hit your finger on something it can cause a deformity (often called an ';air bubble';) in the fingernail. What it really represents is an area where the material that makes up the fingernail (called keratin) is not put together quite right (we say it is incompletely keratinized). This deformity stays in the nail until it grows out and gets cut off.

When you hit your finger on something, you can damage the part of your fingernail that is alive and growing. This doesn鈥檛 cause any permanent problems, but causes this white spot in your nail. The more you bump or hit your fingernail, the more white spots you will get. But whether you have one or many, they stay in your nail until it grows out.
It means you are going to strike it rich-not kidding-its TRUE!!
go to your doctor
My manicurist says it can be 2 things. One is where you've had trama to the nail(you bang your finger hard on something) or its a mineral deficiency during that time of nail growth. However, a manicurist can buff them out with one of those high speed buffers
It can be from calcium deficiency, but usually it can be caused by something as simple as a cold or fever. Any trauma to your hands or body can cause this discoloration. Many will be in about the same spot on multiple nails.
Yes you're right. It is a calcium deficiency. I asked a nail tech.
Yes, you're right, it's calcium deficiency.
they tell you how many secret admirers you have
older people say that it means your wise but I don't know
Usually it's from slight damage to the ';nail bed';, the area of the finger right above where the fingernail comes out.

It's nothing to be concerned about.
