Because there believe the last finger should not be to short,must reach over the third line of next finger.if not there will get bad luck. if it long-es than third line of next finger,this will bring good luck !!! So only way is keeps long nail .as long as there can,and there believe it will bring better luck.( normal our last finger will not reach till third line of next ,only very few can ) This is one of the OLD Chinese people thinking, you don't see any of Muslim people do so. usually you can see it on some malaysian/singaporean chinese guys... i dont know why they do that...i asked one of them and he said it is easier with the 'tools' ...i have no idea what he meant, i wanted to know more but i was reluctant to ask ...grossss
