It is extremely important to take antibiotics for the full term. Here is why. She has an infection, which is being caused by an organism that the antibiotics must fight off. Even though she will start to feel better and look better after a few days, this doesn't mean that it is safe to stop the antibiotics. Why? Because they have only started to kill the new microorganisms that are being reproduced, but not the older ones at the root of the issue. If she were to stop them now, the microorganisms that are left behind would mutate and generate resistance to the antibiotic, so that next time she uses it it won't even work, thus making it more difficult to treat her condition. So yes, take them exactly as the doctor says.
You could also think of it this way. You are going to go swiming to a river, and you have been told that you MUST at ALL TIMES wear your life saving jacket. You then arrive at the river and notice how calm and smooth it looks. Would it be wise to jump in with no life jacket? After all, it looks very safe and tranquil. Well the truth is no, you shouldn't, becuase underneath, there are currents which could cost you your life if you aren't wearing your floaties. So yeah, I sure do hope you take them as instructed.
For this isntance, it seems it's just a matter of being patient.
