I would say no. Sorry to the 11 yr old :o( but she has all the time in the world to express herself with black -- while a kid, where's the colors at? Perhaps you can negotiate and meet in the middle with a dark purple or middle purple or one nail half black, half pink - something like that maybe -- glittery polish over or something.





Black suggests dark things - gothic a lot of times and most 11 year olds are not gothic - maybe just feels like it is cool or saw someone else has it on - One way would be no don't wear it and risk her always wearing it to defy you ( your daughter I am not sure??) and the other is let her try out her own self expression now and come to her own conclusions. Letting her express herself is one thing but strangers see little kids wearing things that make them look older - dark polish, makeup -- whatever it may be. So, even if you want to let her express herself, she has to understand doing that in some ways sometimes is actually dangerous.

If the answer is ';yes'; then the colour hardly matters at all. Why would it be different from lime green, or bright purple?


It's neither right nor wrong to allow a child to wear nail polish, it's just a thing. Therefore, the colour is immaterial as well.

If it's not something YOU want her to wear, then your answer is ';no';.


If you dont mind, then the answer is ';yes';.

I've yet to hear anything bad about anyone of any age wearing nail polish.

Yeah, if she does apparently go ';goth';, it will only be a phase.


My twin went through the goth stage at some point. :P She's not really goth anymore, just more alternative.
Its prefectly fine. I wore it once but mine had cute pink/white hearts. (Im in 6th grd now) you should be lucky its not permanent like a tattoo. Its just nail polish, its not a nose piercing. don't freak out. it will come off and she'll probably get a different color.
it is a style now a days. it's alright. not letting her wear it will probably just make her mad and want to wear it more. besides, it's not like a piercing or a tattoo. it will come off with a cotton ball and some nail polish remover.
um i think that is fine but just make sure it is tasefully worn like with dark purples and maroons...indigo and navy......i think that is fine for her age.......and now that summer has come and gone its a perfect color for winter/fall:)
not really, she might start to turn goth at young age. and she'll be made fun of in school by others. this is of course what i think. lol. it might not happen
I say yes. As long as the rest of her look is age appropiatte. Like No really short skirts or to much upper body showing. If its black nails and jeans tee and tennis then sure of course!!

freaking 4 yr olds wear black/red nail polish... everything is ok to do these days..
